Hi guys I'm a part time keeper and everything when called upon has been going well. The one problem I do have is when stood up I'm sometimes very close and occasionally get warned about being close to taking the ball in front of the stumps. Basically, how close should I be to the stumps when stood up ? As I don't want this to cost the team. Any help soonish would be appreciated

It's a personal thing when your stood up but I like to be just short of an arms length from the stumps so I'm not tempted to do what your describing

But if your taking the ball in front of the stumps it's not where your standing it's your technique as your grabbing at the ball not letting it come to you

Thanks for your advice, I'll have a go today and see. Yeah for some reason my trigger movement is forward slightly and then I start to give and let the ball come to me.
