The much hyped England side, which included self proclaimed 'great players' are a laughing stock. Whilst the previous number 1 ranked side went out with a whimper, they lasted 20 months as the top dogs, the only series lose was the series against England.
England on the other hand, got battered in their first series after obtaining the top dogs tag.
Laughable, here's to hoping Sri Lanka destroy them as well. |

So what you saying here , Trott , Strauss cook are all rubbish, or thinking about this in a more adult way. They had a bad trip !! Pakistan were not the best either to be honest. On the player level England outclass Pakistan, however england looked under cooked.

England don't have a single player who will be rated as a great of the game. Strauss, Trott, Cook can only face medium pacers who bowl gun barrel straight. They have no clue against spin. Before you say they can play spin in England, well that's not really skill.
Ajmal is damn sight better than any of the English players.
Come on Mendis, destroy the most over rated side in history |

| When India got whitewashed they lost their number one rating to the side that beat them... England. That proves just how tenuous their grip was on the top spot. England on the other hand have been whitewashed yet still remain number one. India having just been whitewashed by Australia are miles off the pace, although with a home series or two in the offing can no doubt doctor a few pitches to put themselves back in contention. Overrated England may be... but they still slaughtered a side which contained the so-called greats of the game.. GAH...PAA ....Great at home... Pretty average away... as the last two tours have proved without a shadow of a doubt. |

England reign at number 1 will end when South Africa beat New Zeland, and England get hammered by Sri Lanka, another 6-8 weeks.
India where number 1 for 21 months, playing 8 series with the ranking. Losing the ranking in the 8th series.
England's weak grip on the ranking means the 1st series defeat after obtaining the rank, and they've soon be back as nearly men.
India might to poor tourists, but England are hardly much better. Last tour to the Caribbean series lost 1-0. Last tour to South Africa series drawn 1-1. Last tour to India series lost 1-0. Last tour to Sri Lanka series lost 1-0 Tour to UAE series lost 3-0.
Obviously the fluke series win against Australia was against the grain. The beating of Bandladesh is hardly worth anything 2-0 and a 2-1 win in New Zealand.
England are home town bullies, just like India... |

For the sake of this argument, we'll look just at England against the 'top sides'.
They beat Australia at home 2-1 and away 3-1
They beat India at home 4-0, but lost the reserve 0-1
They lost to South Africa at 1-2, but manged a 1-1 draw in South Africa.
Hardly the stuff of a great team |

As I said, England are the joke number 1 side. To be a proper number 1 side, you need to win in all conditions.
England are home town bullies.
One fluke win in Australia after 20 odd years, England are a mickey mouse side. |

England became number 1 due to playing more Tests than those around them.
They cashed in on a redeveloping Australian side and an Indian side which refuses to accept that they have the faze in younger players.
Factor in South Africa played much less than England in your 3 year period, and there's your answer.
Transitional number 1 side = England |

So which flag do you nail your hat to? Why the obvious hate for the English side?
Ps the rating is an average , so it matters not how many tests you play, it's how we'll you perform in them your theory is flawed.

| Nick... It's very highly unlikely you'll get an answer to your question as to which test team the aptly named Nutter supports. But there again, since spite appears to his modus operandi, he'll probably do it now to spite me. The one thing we do know is that he doesn't support the current number 1 test team in the world... just the opposite in fact. However, there are none so blind as those who will not see. Ask any of the Indian supporters who believe that because India won the last World Cup, they are the best ODI team in the world... despite the fact that they have never topped the ICC ODI Table. |

I support South Africa.
In regards to India/Australia and WC/number 1.
Both are well within their right to term themselves the best ODI side |
