Dad brought me a new bat ,I like it but I hate the stickers(the brand etc) so I ordered the Nike stickers which are mainly used in the Ipl (the one virat kohli has)
How can I remove the stickers safely along with the glue residue, will it be sticky? I did some research, If I just sand it down then it will just polish the glue onto the surface.
And once the stickers have been removed can I just apply them, I haven't oiled and knocked my bat yet, should I do that first then apply the stickers or remove then apply? Thanks |

What bat did you get originally , dont get me started on putting another brand stickers on your bat. If you do, dont sell it ;-) |

| The stickers just look ugly that's why I wanna put the Nike ones on.. And by saying "if you do, don't sell it " is that a encouragement :p ? |

| Nick; not sure how you can have a fake Nike when there is not really any such thing as a genuine one? After all, they're just restickered bats themselves... |

Hi RazorR, those AS stickers are pretty foul, I understand the desire to change them! Like with extratec facing, remove the existing stickers across the grain to be safe. The wood underneath will be a bit tacky, if you aren't putting new stickers over the area then white spirits do a great job of fixing this. It will also go away in time if you miss any. Leave the existing glue on the areas the new stickers are going though, it will help adhere them.
Apply the stickers before oiling and knocking, if the wood is oiled then it will take longer for the stickers to take and they probably won't hold as well. I'd probably leave on the stickers along the edge though, it appeases people like Nick and myself (despite my advice here) who prefer original branding, plus these don't hurt the aesthetics too much. I figure with stickers like the originals it's either going to be rebranding or a blank bat anyway, but it's nice to have that bit of originality. |

| Thank you so much for the response, you know when you say "across the grain" ? Does that mean the front face of the bat or ? |

| The best way is to work out where the new stickers will go, and leave the glue residue from the old ones in those areas, but remove the residue in the other areas before applying the new ones. This is a bit more fiddly, but gives the best results. If you can't be bothered with this, just remove all the glue residue before applying the new ones, you don't want to damage the glue bonds under the new stickers by trying to get rid of a lot of residue around them. |

ive re stickerd a lot of bats and the best way to do it is just to peel off the old stickers and put the new ones on top. if there is any glue residue showing just rub it off with your finger. dont try and sand it off, its just a hassle. also never peel the stickers with the grain, it will take bits of willow out. rip the stickers off from side to side not up and down |
