Hi,
I have recently purchased a new Gunn-Moore bat with anti-scuff pre-fitted.
I will be oiling it, but only in places where willow is exposed (back, front and edges).

But my primary concern is the knocking in of bat with mallet.

Do I need to knock-in?
If yes, how can it be done? Can I knock in over the anti-scuff sheet?

If not, what initial conditioning care do I need to take before I start playing with it in club level matches? Any additional care for next season care?

Thanks in advance for your tips and valued inputs.

Thanks you very much.

As for the oiling part, since front face is almost covered, do I still use like 1 tbsp of linseed oil for back and side edges.
Would it be like over-oiling? Will it matter if I over-oil the back of bat? Should I still oil it like 2-3 times before first use?

I know I am barraging the questions in the forum. But being my first time, feeling a little jittery.

Sorry it took me time to get back to you but onece or twice will be enough, the amought of oil should be minimal just put some on a rag and then rub it over the exposed area.
