Hello,
I am in the process of looking at new gloves to buy..
Dimple or Octopus grip?? anyone got any preferences, and reasons why?
My season begins in a couple of months, so want to get them nice and soft in time.

The more expensive gloves use Octopus, the low to mid price gloves use dimples it apprears.

Thanks heaps.

i used to wicket keep a few years ago and found that dimple gloves after being his repeatedly becom smooth so you loose grip, octopus grips wears down quite fast (stil llast 1 season) but you still retain grip on the ball. not sure if you understand or not but octopus are better

Thanks ammo, yeah I think I get it....

I think I'll get some new gloves sooner rather than later.. There are only a few places on the gloves where the dimpes are reasonably worn down.. I was hoping to get 1 more season, they lasted just the one sadly...

with your gloves if you take them to almost any cricket shop you should be able to get them re-faced. you can here in australia. my preferance would be the octopus rubber anyway, they tend to last longer and if this makes sence the ball has a better sound when it hits the octopus rubber

I was quoted approx $100-140 AUS to get them resurfaced!! That included everything, inc taking the rubber off... You can get a set of new gloves (and pretty good ones) for that amount of money in Aus... Keep the gloves as seconds..
