CE and Kite are 2 different Certificates.

CE is base standard where the Kite Mark is obtained using stricter testing methods. (as in GM)

All soft goods sold around the world carry a CE label (I think the cost price is US$0.01 per label depending if the printed fabric is satin or woven fabric).

Google "BS 6183 Cricket" and the results are there for all to see.

Ryan : Your pair of pads look like an interesting project. You can do what James Cameron did with Terminator and revive your pads in to something extra ordinary. I can think of filling the gap with thick sheet of rubber and patching it up using an old pair of jeans or something [light colour]. Sew it up nicely using fishing line.

Tape over the seam once you have finished and pat yourself on the back for a job nicely done.

white silicon might make it too heavy and hard but worth a try. Not that he got much to lose anyway.
