Hi all
New to the forum so please be kind to me! My wife has very kindly offered to buy me a new bat for up to £250 for a very big birthday this year! For a number of years I've been using Kookaburras but as I've looked at a few bats this winter I'm pretty sold on GM (I guess the budget would allow me to get an Original) and I hear good things from everyone I talk to. I've always gone on pick up and I really like how the Luna and Icon feel - even though they pick up quite differently. As I've done more research I've confused myself completely! I'm an opening batsman who is strongest driving on the front foot so maybe the Luna would suit. But my home ground has a fast bouncy (as bouncy as Yorkshire gets) track so maybe something with a higher middle (Icon?) would be better. And then there's the Apex which also felt nice and is maybe a good in between. I guess the advice I'm after is whether I should simply go with what feels best in my hand or whether I should attempt to analyse my game and try to find the best fit with the designs of bat.

Hi Edward

Thanks for the post. I went shopping the week before the bat selector went live and ended up buying the Icon Original based on its absolutely superb pick up. Then went on the bat selector and was delighted that (with no cheating!)it came up with the Icon for me. It's a great tool that you could waste hours on! Can't wait to get started with the new bat in the nets on Sunday.
