| In my opinion, as long as your playing on a dry deck then you should be ifne wearing those. If you look at pictures of all the professionals, they rarely play on wet decks, obviously, so they very rarely bat in spikes. Also, another option to consider is having a pair of trainers spiked, I know a lot of people are doing this now, including professionals because once you have a favourite pair of comfortable, lightweight, snug-to-your-foot trainers you are going to be much more comfortbale batting in those then a pair of new, stiff, perhaps bulky cricket shoes. |

Well , lets imagine you get a pair of decent running spikes, the lightest ones you can get, then you get them spiked, i bet they would be lighter than the lightest cricekt shoes.
also, its about how they feel on you, because if youve got a comfy pair than that is what matters |

| tbf, cricket spikes and running shoes make little difference in toe protection. also, go to ian mason in brum to get them steel capped or carbon fibre capped for lightness as well |

well seeing as many running shoes are petty much just mesh, laces and a sole there is a difference in protection. cricket shoes have a strengthened toe area, not an massively effective protection BUT it beats buying trainers, sending them off to be spiked, a week later sending them off to have toe protction put in, getting them back and realising you've probably spent more than you would have if you'd just bought cricket shoes in the first place and that they are probably now roughly the same weight as cricket shoes. |

| yes ok the weight point may be flawede, but the comfortability point isnt, and this is for a favourite pair of trainers that you already have.. |

| Why would you limit your favourite pair to only being used on a cricket pitch? |
