| Kiwi is getting angry. I should remind you that most aussies are descendants of British prisoners sent to australia - can you think of a bigger insult than that? - a whole nation being born from the underpants of british society. lol. The prime minister is just a latecomer then! |

But Kiwi, with due respects, we Brits are not the ones pointing out that we have foreign born British nationals in our team, it's others who appear to be making an issue of it. Therefore, that we've had a couple of Prime Ministers not born in Britain is of no consequence nor is it relevant to the point. The fact is that you Antipodeans are always carping on about our 'multi-national' team yet have a foreign born lady occupying the highest office in Australia. I think this is a genuine case for those living in glass houses not to throw stones. |

Ahh Bob,if my point regarding a couple of Prime Ministers not born in Britain is of no consequence nor is it relevant to the point. Then in reality this whole thread is the same. Yes Australia has its "first" foreign born PM, but she was not elected by the people of Australia although that may change in the comming months, but how can this be compared to the numbers of players that have passed thru the doors of the ECB. Although with the sucess that your cricket team is having maybe you can pass it on to other teams, may want to start with the Football. BTW have you heard the one about the 5 Aussies , 3 South Africians, 2 Indians and a 1 Kiwi that walked in to the ECB ? The ECB announced that there will be 11 changes to the next test side |

| Reading some of these posts, I think Bob you are a little confused on what the actual issue is with the foreign players arguments. I don't know anyone amongst my peers that puts a person moving as a baby or child to a new country on same level as an adult swapping countries to further his chances by moving to a weaker sporting nation. Playing for your country shouldn't be devalued to level of club cricketers swapping teams, at least that's how I view it. |

| To answer both Kiwi and Skipper: In the UK we live in a democracy where all legal (and some illegal , but that's another story !) citizens in theory have equal rights and opportunities. If you deny the right of any person holding a UK passport to represent the country, you are effectively operating a system of discrimiation, and I find the thought of that abhorrent in the extreme. |
