Bat is grade 4 or 5 willow but will play beautifully I'd reckon. Often that sort of wood really pings well.
it goes like a train m8y... hit a cover-drive for 4 on sunday that i will remember for a long time!
all the sweeter as the opposition were a bunch of sledging idiots who had already had a go at opener with a really old Bernie Facer "Baronet" bat with the yellow stickers... they were going on about it looking like it came from Morrisons.
his bat is over 20 years old, but like new as he was retired from cricket and only came back to it last season because his son now plays (13 yrs old and great technique).
so as one of them was obviously dense or dyslexic decided that my Lekka bat came from IKEA. and as he was fielding at a particularly short cover position i decided that the relevant ball was going past him at a rate of knots! it did... at the boundary in about 3 seconds!
the following over he moved all the way to a shortish backward square (20yds). the bowler decided to put one on my leg side, so i pulled it downwards in his direction. one bounce and felled him for about 2 minutes as it was one bounce into the nuts! YAY!!!!!!
