For those of us old enough to vote, May 6th looms ever nearer. Thought it'd be a good idea for those interested in politics to share their thoughts and opinions of the impending election, how they think it will go and what they make of the respective parties and their policies.
Personally, coming from a staunch Conservative family I can see myself voting David Cameron. After 13 years of a petulant, lack-lustre Labour government, I for one am ready for change. David Cameron has been steady in the polls and despite a rather average showing in the Leaders' Debates, I really feel like he is the man to lead us into recovery.
Nick Clegg appears to be a one-trick pony, continually lapping up unjust praise from presenting an idealogical society with policies that when push comes to shove, has been proven to have flaws and cannot be justified in terms of spending. I for one do not back his idea of scrapping the Trident nuclear program.
Gordon Brown is probably the only candidate that provides substance, but I'm afraid that after 13 years of a Labour government, it is time for him to go. He lacks the clear charisma and drive this country needs to ensure a sustainable future, both at home and abroad with regards to EU and immigration policies.
So there, rant over. What are others thoughts and opinions? |
