I just wanted your thoughts on this.
A couple of seasons ago (U/15's) my team (Barron River) was playing Mulgrave. Anyway, I was wicketkeeping to a medium pace bowler, and standing about 2 metres back from the stumps. The ball was bowled, and in the process of playing the ball, the batsman left his crease. He missed the ball, and when i took it, I ran up to the stumps and took the bails off, as he had made no effort to return ti his crease. I looked to the square leg umpire (a mulgrave umpire no less), appealed, and he called not out, as "The Ball was dead". At this time the batsman was still out of his crease.
What do you think? |
