I am going on a tour to Sri Lanka in December with school and i am wondering if i can glean any information about playing cricket in Sri Lanka from all you posting pros. What's it like there? What is the heat like? What are the pitches like? Has anyone played against any u16 teams there? What's it like fielding for 40overs? What's the food like? What are things to avoid?
I'd like to know specifically:
what it's like batting in a helmet (albion) for a long (hopefully) period of time?
what's the sun like? What factor suncream?
should i be looking to take two bats? two pairs of gloves?
Thanks in advance for any tips you can give me...
And i know this is incredibly premature but i'd like to start preparing now; I am hideously unfit after a summer of nothingness...
