Posted - 29/10/2011 : 07:43:48 I've had the chance to use a Players in the nets a few times, it's a pretty awesome piece of kit. The willow is the absolute best, perfectly straight grains and no marks even on the back. The bat I tried weighed 2.9, but picked up no heavier than 2.7. Also because it isn't a very concave back profile, the sweet spot is a bit wider across the face. If you can afford it, you wouldn't be disappointed.
The only problem is that if the GN brand isn't a major selling point for you, the Players is more expensive than a custom-made Screaming Cat Professional. Having been lucky enough to use both, I found the performance of the SC to be similarly faultless, and owning a custom Millichamp & Hall myself I can tell you that having it made exactly to your specifications and seeing the result is very rewarding. I'm not entirely sure I could recommend the GN Players on that basis, I'm afraid.
