I wonder if Duncan Fletcher has mixed feelings about the current England v India series.. Whilst I'm sure his overriding wish is for India to at least square the series by winning the next two tests, I wonder if deep down he's feeling a certain pride about England's performances so far. After all, it was largely his input that started England's rise. He got the central contracts introduced, extra coaching and backroom staff. He weeded out all the beer and fags brigade and introduced a programme of rigid training and lots of other improvements in the squad set-up, all of which laid a solid foundation upon which Andy Flower and Andrew Strauss have built.
