Dad brought me a new bat ,I like it but I hate the stickers(the brand etc) so I ordered the Nike stickers which are mainly used in the Ipl (the one virat kohli has)

How can I remove the stickers safely along with the glue residue, will it be sticky? I did some research, If I just sand it down then it will just polish the glue onto the surface.

And once the stickers have been removed can I just apply them, I haven't oiled and knocked my bat yet, should I do that first then apply the stickers or remove then apply? Thanks

ive re stickerd a lot of bats and the best way to do it is just to peel off the old stickers and put the new ones on top. if there is any glue residue showing just rub it off with your finger. dont try and sand it off, its just a hassle.
also never peel the stickers with the grain, it will take bits of willow out. rip the stickers off from side to side not up and down

The best way is to work out where the new stickers will go, and leave the glue residue from the old ones in those areas, but remove the residue in the other areas before applying the new ones. This is a bit more fiddly, but gives the best results. If you can't be bothered with this, just remove all the glue residue before applying the new ones, you don't want to damage the glue bonds under the new stickers by trying to get rid of a lot of residue around them.
