Posted - 02/06/2011 : 10:45:24 Guys i'm having a mare! been out 3 times in a row caught at square leg playing of my toes or my hip. Im not trying to smash it merely run it down to fine leg for 1 or 2. im a leftie btw. not got an issue anywhere else on the legside, just when im trying to run it down. Tried throwdowns in the nets and they went well but reverted straight back when i got out into the middle. Any tips or drills you can advise as im getting nowhere cheers |

Posted - 13/06/2011 : 10:52:53 helped in nets before hand as well as using the video camera to identify where my head and hands were going, i was falling towards the offiside a lot and pushing my hands at the ball so was only one place it could go. i think the fact that saturdays bowlers were pushing through a fair bit of heat made me play a bit more conservatively and let it hit the bat rather than pushing at it. lets hope it continues this week thanks again for your help |

Posted - 13/06/2011 : 10:27:11 thats nice to hear, its good they didn't have a fine leg or square leg it let you free up your mind and gain confidence in playing in that area! did the video i gave you help?, I'm not sure if i should put it into practice... |

Posted - 13/06/2011 : 08:38:03 guys, wanted to thank you all for the advice. finaly got the chance to put into practice walking into bat on a very green deck @ 20-2 on saturday. fortunatley the oppo didnt have a square or fine leg, just a man under the helmet. i opted for the soft hands approach and worked a treat, even hooking their overseas into the pavilion for 6!......with my eyes closed |

Posted - 06/06/2011 : 12:30:03 was blatant cheating, we were well in control chasing 250 on 150 for 2 then their umpire got involved and they won easily |

Posted - 06/06/2011 : 11:16:00 didnt get the chance to try any suggestions as was triggered by the oppos umpire for 0! seriously dubious looking at the bruise on my hip, no LBW's given when we bowled but gave all 3 appeals in our innings |

Posted - 03/06/2011 : 12:52:01 If you are hitting the ball in the air I would suggest you might be going through the short too early, putting too much bottom hand in or falling away to off and playing round your pad - Difficult to analyse without seeing though. |

Posted - 03/06/2011 : 11:56:04 maybe, ive managed to nab a video camera from work so i'm going to do some analysis with the bowling machine to see what im doing wrong. its annoying as i feel in great form apart from that |

Posted - 03/06/2011 : 11:17:00 You may be falling over to the off side a little as that will change the angle of the bat and pop it up |

Posted - 03/06/2011 : 10:35:54 i cany understand where this problem has come from, first few weeks of the season i was hitting it where i wanted of my hip and feet now all i can do is hit it shin high at square leg. would be better if i was missing it and at least we'd get a leg bye |
